According to a recent permit filing, a new concept called Group Therapy has been filed for a Renton location at 17178 116th Avenue SE.

A representative of Group Therapy was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Seattle’s request.

While an official opening date and what Group Therapy plans to offer has yet to be confirmed, according to the permit, Group Therapy has filed for a spirits/beer/wine lounge permission.

Group Therapy was filed under Group Therapy @ R LLC. Washington Company Search states that Group Therapy @ R LLC was incorporated on April 2nd, 2024. Listed on the permit and business filing is Maurice Leclech.

When doing a bit more research, according to Maurice’s Facebook page, Maurice is also the owner and co-founder of Uncle Mo’s Snappy Inn. Uncle Mo’s is described as a “Popular neighborhood tavern for bar bites, cold beer & karaoke in a snug, no-frills setting,” according to Google.

When it comes to the property for Group Therapy, according to Loop Net, Group Therapy’s location is a part of Cascade Village. The property was built in 1986 and is approximately 46,100 square feet. Cascade Village is composed of Building G at 19,854 square feet and Building F at 26,265 square feet.

“Key tenants in the building, Domino’s and R- Bar & Grill have also recently shown further commitment to the site. Domino’s, a tenant since 2012, completed a full interior remodel; R-Bar & Grill, a tenant since 2007 and making-up 18% of the total income, recently executed a new 10-year lease.”
