A representative of 7 Seas Seafood Kitchen was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Seattle’s request.

While an official opening date and what 7 Seas plans to offer have yet to be confirmed, according to the permit, behind 7 Seas is Cocina Oaxaca LLC.

According to Washington Company Search, behind Cocina Oaxaca LLC and who is also listed on the permit filing for 7 Seas is Misael Dominguez. Cocina Oaxaca LLC has been marked as “administratively dissolved.”

When doing a bit more research on Misael, according to an article written in 2016 by Seattle Mag, “Dominguez was a founding member and manager of Ballard’s La Carta de Oaxaca before opening his restaurant, La Cocina Oaxaqueña, three years ago on Capitol Hill.”

“There, he and his wife, Ernestina, spend hours perfecting each batch, which tastes heavenly sealed into layers of moist, sweet masa and tender pork for the banana-leaf-wrapped tamales de mole ($8.95). Dominguez won’t reveal his recipe, but we know he travels to his native Villa de Etla in northwestern Oaxaca for ingredients.”

According to La Cocina Oaxaquena’s website, “Our menu is based on simple, homemade Mexican cuisine where the taste and quality stand for what we believe in. Coming to La Cocina Oaxaqueña, you will get a full experience – not only with our food but also great original cocktails created with top-shelf tequila and mescal infusions.”
