Ackley Brands, founded in 2016 when the Ackley family acquired Montinore Estate, described as a renowned name in Biodynamic® viticulture and sustainable winemaking in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, has built an impressive portfolio of origin-obsessed brands in the beverage industry, extending from Seattle, Washington to Northern Italy, blending traditional winemaking and brewing practices with modern creativity.

In a series of “strategic moves,” Ackley Brands partnered with Montinore Estate in early 2016, followed by the acquisition of Tidalstar Vineyard in October 2016, the purchase of Laughlin Road Ranch in March 2019, the introduction of Landlines Estates in November 2020, the launch of Cataclysm Wine Co. in September 2021, and the debut of Borealis Vintners in May 2022. Subsequently, in July 2022, the company ventured into the import business with Vivacé Prosecco, under the Montinore Estate label, offering certified organic Italian varietals.

Ackley Brands opened The Grove, a tasting room in McMinnville, Oregon, in November 2022, and followed up with another tasting room in Woodinville, Washington, in February 2023. In July 2023, Borealis Vintners extended its product line with the introduction of an Oregon Pinot Gris and a White Blend from Washington and Oregon appellations. The company continued to explore Italian imports in August 2023 with the launch of La Messe by Montinore Estate, introducing Sangiovese and skin-contact Albana Secco wines from the Emilia-Romagna region, according to the company website.
