According to a recent permit filing, Ancient Gate Coffee Co. has filed for a location in the University District at 4530 University Way NE.

A representative of Ancient Gate Coffee Co. was not immediately available to comment upon What Now Seattle’s request.

According to the company website, Ancient Gate is aiming for a summer or fall opening in 2024. “Ancient Gate Coffee exists to invite the people of Seattle into an urban expression of home through the beautiful experience of story and specialty coffee.”

For the property itself, according to the Commercial Brokers Association, “4530 University Way NE is a vacant retail building located within the University District in the heart of its shopping corridor known as “The Ave”.

The building consists of two stories with approximately 9,600 square feet of space. The property was built in 1926 and is made of masonry or brick. According to the permit filing, three people are behind Ancient Gate.
