Located at 4th & Union – 1350 4th Ave., the restaurant and catering company seeks to elevate convenient cuisine for those living or working downtown with a menu inspired by fresh ingredients and adventurous flavors.

“The Seattle community really embraced our food and hospitality with our South Lake Union opening earlier this year,” said Kevin Miles, CEO of Mendocino Farms in a statement. “We’re looking forward to fueling even more Seattleites with our flavorful food as we expand into downtown and beyond in the coming years. We are so honored and proud to be a part of the community.”

Mendocino Farms first opened due to requests from existing fans, and acknowledges the existing synergy with Seattle’s foodie culture, innovative nature and adventurous spirit as the driving force behind the brand’s plans to grow its footprint with five additional locations in Seattle over the next five years.

Seattleites can join the Rainier Square location’s grand opening festivities with:

  • Free entrée offer for guests who create a My Mendo account and select “Seattle-Rainier Square” as their favorite location prior to opening day.
  • Pre-opening pop-ups in downtown to get an early taste of the most popular entrées and deli sides.
  • Custom Seattle tote bag filled with goodies from local favorites Monorail Espresso and restaurateur Tom Douglas for the first 100 grand opening day guests.
  • “Happy Place Event” on Aug. 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with samples from Mendo, cold brew samples from Monorail Espresso, music by DJ Carlos from Energia Events and limited-edition swag giveaways.

Mendocino Farms will also donate 50% of opening day proceeds to Mary’s Place, a Seattle-based nonprofit which ensures no child sleeps outside by centering equity and opportunity for women and families.

Mendocino Farms’ culinary team uses fresh, from-the-earth ingredients to create unique, adventurous takes on sandwiches, salads and more. Some menu items include:

“Not So Fried” Chicken Sandwich: A crunchy take on the classic fried chicken sandwich. Made with shaved, roasted chicken breast topped with iconic Mendo’s krispies, herb aioli, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes and pickled red onions on toasted ciabatta, the sandwich is served with a side of tangy mustard barbeque sauce or mustard pickle remoulade.

Thai Mango Salad: A salad made with shaved, roasted chicken breast, ramen noodles, napa cabbage & kale slaw with carrots & bean sprouts, baby spinach, sliced mango, honey roasted almonds, pickled daikon & carrots, Thai basil mint, cilantro, lime, and fried shallots with Thai almond dressing.

Mendo’s Original Pork Belly Banh Mi: A Vietnamese sandwich with braised, caramelized pork belly, pickled daikon and carrots, cilantro, cucumbers, jalapeños, Thai basil and sriracha mayo on panini-pressed ciabatta. This sandwich has a vegan counterpart or can be ordered salad style!

Mendocino Farms Rainier Square will also have local beer on tap from Fremont Brewing Company, Silver City Brewery and Georgetown Brewing Company.

Mendocino Farms Rainier Square will be open for dine-in, pick-up or delivery daily from 11a.m. to 9 p.m. Guests can order ahead through the Mendocino Farms website or app, or via Uber Eats, DoorDash and Postmates.

The community can also fuel their gatherings with Mendocino Farms’ catering menu, which includes exclusive offerings. Catering orders can be placed online or by calling the restaurant and speaking with the dedicated catering team.
