A representative of Montclair Hospitality Group and MM by Morimoto did not immediately respond to What Now Seattle’s request for comment.

While an official opening date has yet to be released, MM by Morimoto comes from the renowned Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. Seamlessly uniting the rich traditions of his native Japan with the diverse palates of the American dining scene with intense excitement, exquisite technique, and perfectly balanced flavors, Chef Morimoto has captured the hearts of countless diners worldwide, earning critical and popular acclaim for his unparalleled culinary creations.

Born and raised in Hiroshima, Japan, Masaharu Morimoto’s journey into the world of culinary artistry began after a shoulder injury cut short his promising career as a baseball catcher. Embracing this twist of fate, he delved into the study of sushi, mastering the precise techniques of this demanding cuisine. At the young age of 24, he took a bold step and opened his first restaurant, showcasing his mastery of the craft.

In 1994, Morimoto’s exceptional talent caught the attention of the original Nobu restaurant, where he was swiftly promoted to the position of Executive Chef. This marked the beginning of his rise to culinary stardom, and soon after, he set his sights on America, eager to expand his culinary horizons and combine the best of both cultures into a singular dining experience.

In 2015, he ventured into the magical world of Disney Springs with Morimoto Asia Orlando, followed by the introduction of Momosan Ramen and Sake NYC and Morimoto Las Vegas at MGM Grand in 2016.

Undeterred by geographical boundaries, Chef Morimoto’s culinary empire continued to expand, with Morimoto Asia Waikiki, Momosan Waikiki, and Morimoto Doha opening in 2018. In 2019, Momosan Seattle welcomed patrons, followed by Momosan Wynwood in 2020, according to his website.
