Chez LaFayette will serve a mix of French and Cajun cuisine to include four to five items from Bourbon Street’s menu. The new restaurant will be serving items such as Escargot, Onion Soup, Jambalaya, Shrimp and Grits, and three different types of oysters, one being Barbeque Oysters, according to De Alwis. Guests will receive some items via table service, like the crepes that it will be offering.
The remodel currently in progress includes creating the main bar at the front of the restaurant and leaving the current bar in the back to be used as a private event area. The restaurant will be getting some new equipment, a new hood, and a chargrill that will be used specifically for their oyster offerings. Per theme, the decor will be a “typical French look.”
“We will serve New Orleans style coffee and beignets at Cafe Au Lait next door as part of Chez also,” De Alwis broke to What Now Seattle.
The 3500 square foot establishment is expected to be ready by early May 2023 if not sooner provided all permits go through with no issues.
