While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, according to the permit filing, behind Its Brewing Taproom is In The Shadow Brewing LLC. Behind In The Shadow Brewing is Cole and Sarah Rinehardt.

According to In The Shadow Brewing’s website, “Our story starts much like many other small breweries. Cole was a homebrewer and decided to go a little bigger. We opened up a tiny place, just outside of Granite Falls, in the Fall of 2014.”

“We distributed to local stores and restaurants and enjoyed getting to know the people and the business. Eventually, we needed to expand, so we closed up shop and moved to Arlington, where we spent two and a half years finding, building, and settling into, a new home.”

“It was a long and difficult process, but we finally opened back up roughly 5 years after our first opening, and we couldn’t be happier! We love Arlington and are thriving as a family here. We have 2 kids with active school, sports, and church lives, and we’re doing what we can to balance our time between them, Cole’s full-time job, and the brewery.”

“It’s for this reason that we’re only open on Fridays, and one Saturday a month. The kids are growing up fast, and the time that we have with them is finite. Someday we’ll have more available hours, but for now, it’s family first around here.”

“Our original location was also in our yard, but in a 240 sq ft building. The building was so small that the maximum occupancy was 3, and we used the entire thing as a fermentation chamber. Due to our size, and to limit the impact on our neighborhood, we were open by appointment only.”

“We distributed kegs and bottles to area shops and restaurants and enjoyed getting to know many new friends. The new place can hold a few more people, and we have actual open hours, so stop on in and give us a try!”
